Q: What’s the secret to making my application stand out from the crowd?

A: Increasing your chances of securing an interview starts with your application. This is your chance to make an unforgettable first impression. Ensure all documents (including certifications, professional headshots, logbooks etc.) are perfectly organised, clearly named and submitted concisely in one email/application. This attention to detail subtly demonstrates your professionalism and ability to stay organised.

Additionally, your CV’s opening paragraph is your opportunity to start your application strong. Highlight key details like your enthusiasm for the specific role or business/airline, what you can contribute, how you meet the role requirements, and your availability. This initial impression is crucial for engaging the recruiter.

Q: Beyond the paperwork, how can I impress a recruiter during the initial stages?

A: After you’ve submitted your application, maintaining professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to detail remains key. Our team will conduct an initial call to run through your background, skills, experience and qualifications. This is your chance to articulate your genuine desire to join the company/airline, ask insightful questions, and clearly  explain your work history. Your ability to connect and clearly communicate during this call can significantly impact the progression of your application.

Q: How long should I expect the entire recruitment process to take?

A: Every recruitment journey is different, as its highly dependent on the specific role or airline. Factors like background checks, medical assessments, simulators, and so on, can all extend the process, which makes it difficult to provide an ‘on average’ timeframe.

Be mindful that the recruitment journey will be personal to each and every candidate, and can therefore either be fast-tracked or delayed based on their circumstances. Other external factors can also contribute to the recruitment timeframe, including internal processes at the airline, government administration delays (like visas), and much more.

We will always be able to advise on timeframes for the specific role when you make the decision to apply and will keep you updated throughout the process.
