Role, Training & Operations
1. What aircraft will I operate, and do I need to be Type-Rated?
Successful applicants join as B787 Captains or First Officers operating international routes on behalf of ANA Group. We are accepting applications from both Type-Rated and Non-Type-Rated Pilots, representing a fantastic opportunity to move to wide-body aircraft.
2. Will I be based in Japan?
No, pilots operate on a commuting contract and do not need to relocate.
3. What training will I receive?
B787 Type-Rating, initial and recurrent training, including simulator sessions, delivered to ANA Group’s world-class standards.
4. Are career advancement opportunities available?
Yes, Air Japan supports pilot development and offers command upgrade pathways for First Officers, and Line Training Captain (LTC) upgrade for Captains, based on performance and operational needs.
Contract, Pay & lifestyle
1. What type of contract is offered?
A five-year renewable contract.
2. What commuting support is provided?
You will receive commuting allowance, company arranged hotel or accommodation allowance, and a set number of consecutive days off.
3. How many days off do I receive per month?
Typically 10 consecutive days off. 1 Commuting Day is provided under the contract; however, Air Japan’s current practice provides 2 Commuting Days in a month commuting occurs.
4. What benefits are included?

You'll join Air Japan Co., Ltd., operating flights on behalf of ANA Group.
3. Does the branding change affect recruitment?
No, recruitment continues as normal, with monthly screening and new start dates every two months.
